Why build itPor que construir

Chromium's --app flag already gives a site its own window. What it does not give is a clean launcher: the icon is wrong, the window groups with the browser, and sessions leak between apps.

Doing it by hand in kmenuedit worked until the third app. This tool does the whole chain in one dialog.

A flag --app do Chromium já dá uma janela própria ao site. O que ela não dá é um lançador limpo: o ícone sai errado, a janela agrupa com o navegador e as sessões vazam entre apps.

Fazer à mão no kmenuedit funcionou até o terceiro app. Esta ferramenta faz a cadeia inteira em um diálogo.

Chromium reports an app id like chrome-web.whatsapp.com__-Default. The tool computes it, writes a rule into ~/.config/kwinrulesrc that maps the window to the generated .desktop file, and reloads KWin over DBus.

Result: the right icon in the Task Manager and a separate group, with no Plasma restart.

O Chromium reporta um app id como chrome-web.whatsapp.com__-Default. A ferramenta calcula esse id, grava uma regra em ~/.config/kwinrulesrc ligando a janela ao .desktop gerado e recarrega o KWin via DBus.

Resultado: o ícone certo no gerenciador de tarefas e um grupo separado, sem reiniciar o Plasma.
